As expected, my team has been placed in the midwest once again. And as promised, I have new news from St. Louis.
We began our first day of work at the St. Louis chapter of the American Red Cross on Wednesday. There, we will be helping with their home fire prevention campaign (which we worked on in Omaha as well). The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of home fire deaths by 25% over x period of years.
However, it being Memorial Day weekend, festivities are on my mind more than work. On Friday night we went to a free comedy club to see SNL actor Finesse Mitchell. Yesterday (Saturday) we went to two free festivals: Irish Fest and Greek Fest. Today we are going to Rib Fest. Tomorrow we go to Gypsy Caravan, a traveling flea market of sorts. On top of all the free year-round museums and theaters and such, there is some lovely hiking nearby and I just joined a rock climbing gym near my hotel. St. Louis is turning out to be chalk full of fun activities.
